How dare you be so wonderful?

August 15, 2012

How dare you be so wonderful?
With smiles that brighten as the sun,
Its beams hit the very soul with a stain
And touches that pull the heart by strings
Leaving every part yearning for a feel.

How dare you be so wonderful?
Walk into this life with so much fun,
Attached with outbursts of joy, do explain.
In my head always your name rings
And in my mind a picture of you stands still.

How dare you be so wonderful?
With mind, body and soul at one,
I am willing to ask again
Before I fly off with my wings
I would love to know if its real.

Is it?

Funny how today is today
and yesterday is yesterday.
How is light indeed light?
And darkness black?

How Sure is certain
and a needle prick pain?
Does a kiss actually feel tender
or just a confused ponder?

Why does when not mean how
When how can almost answer when?
After all both are dependent on time
Yet they spend separate dime

Do we really know if hot is hot
and not just a thought?
What we feel is it really an action
Or just a figment of our imagination?

Today.

Yesterday’s fruit
Tomorrow’s recruit
Present every day
New in every way
Good and Bad
In you they clad.
Once yesterday’s dawn,
Tomorrow’s unknown.
A fresh start
In every part.
Time for men to be MEN
And work with their hands or pen.

Dreams

April 18, 2013

Wishes, ohh wishes
Where art thou?
In the fertile grounds of my mind
Or in the productive part of mine head?

The lies we tell ourselves when we are asleep….
Planted in our thoughts
Harvested in our minds.

Reality seems cruel
Causing the mind and the brain a duel.

In thee delight is found, in reality truth is met.

The dialogue

January 12, 2012

Eyes weep not!

Lips, smile that mine heart
May bloom with joy.

Legs, please lead never to
the same place of regret twice.

Dear heart, do fall in love
despite the amount of hurt
that may swarm like bees

Hands, hmmm… Hold not tightly,
let there be space for
rest in thy cradle.

Ears, be attentive. Let patience
reign by listening more.

Government VS The people.

January 12, 2012

Animals in human clothing’s.
Ragamuffins in suits and agbadas
Do your brains in one place gather?
Voted in by the people,
Now blinded with power and
Against the people turned.
The pawn can check mate the king,
How easily can they forget that?!

Sleep

September 10, 2011

What seems to hover about now?
Is it the rhythm of the night?
Or does darkness call?
Slowly it creeps over
Sending my head to the world of my pillow
with eyes set on the willow
right outside my window
They shut slowly,
Thus the last glance I steal before I drown
In my blissful darkness
The last I feel, the gentle breeze
Which calls out to my curtain drapes.

Liquid Glass.

September 1, 2011

Calm as the wind
Furious as a raging bull
Like the switch of the human mind.
Blue at morn, green at dusk
as the sky dictates its looks,
Its direction, the wind.
Inconsiderable depth, width unimaginable
Yet holds beauty ineffable

Like shredded glass it paves way
Leaving the waves to rise and fall.
Night and day
It flows and dazzles
Dancing to the rhythm of the wind
Moving back and forth
Glistening to the sun
Shimmering to the moon.

I hear it calling as I walk along its bank
And my print I leave in the sand
With waves rushing at my feet
It draws me close within its grasp
As my print are wiped, its soft touch I meet
Soaked in breeze so blissful with salt,
I find myself hoping the mystery someday
Behind the sea comes my way.
